I think it is obvious that the governments should be actively involved in protecting cultural and biodiversity. Looking back to how successful Australia is at accepting the different cultures in their countries has kept them from not going extinct as a country. If the government of a country protects this, it would widen much more knowledge to the people because different cultures show people many different views on one subject, expanding their thinking. Looking at the United States of America, sure we have our issues due to racism and things linked to that, but for the most part we are still the great American melting pot. People come from all over the world to the United States and we seem to get along to a place that helps our country grow. However even the United States can grown in cultural diversity, becoming even more of a accepting melting pot. If you think about what it would be like if countries like Australia and the United States did not accept all the different cultures in their country, one can only image all the fights and differences that wouldn’t be put aside and ultimately lead to a poor country or the extinction of one. With the government pushing for it, it will act as a guideline for citizens and help redirect them if the cultural diversity is ever lost.
Even if some people disagree with my statement about the government being involved, it is still hard to see the negative sides. I could see how people could be afraid of giving the government more power, and that all governments work differently. However, I feel if it does right, with a set guideline of rules it could really benefit every country.
But please feel like you can leave your opinion because I would like to know the different sides of this.
